Every week seems to be getting better and better, USC and BYU fall, Texas wins but wasn't exactly dominating in doing so, and Florida struggles to get by Tennessee. The BCS busting MWC took two big hits this week with Utah and BYU going down, but TCU, Boise, and Houston ( idle ) remain unbeaten looking to stay in the BCS hunt.
The Big XII opener between UT and TT was closer than the so called experts thought, as the Horns went off favored by 18 1/2, but it was Tech that gained my respect in the game. Texas will have to improve off of this win or OU could roll past them as they seem to have gotten the offense rolling after a poor showing versus BYU. Nebraska also gained a lot of respect this week, and if it weren't for one blown coverage in the final minute of the game would have left Blacksburg with a W ( not many teams can say they've done that) . Three weeks into the season now, and i'll revise my Big XII picks as follows North - Nebraska vs. South - Oklahoma . Sorry Texas, but this week could have been a statement week for you and the statement was you don't deserve to be #2 in the country after that performance.
The SEC week was a mixed bag as well, 1st where has all the defense gone? 2nd what the heck is wrong with Florida's offense. Tennessee played inspired football vs UF, but just doesn't have any offensive fire power at this point to make any real push for competing in the East. Georgia has allowed 41 points in each of it's first two SEC games, which doesn't bold well for the rest of the SEC schedule. LSU continues to win quietly as the offense still isn't running as well as it should. Bama and Ole Miss roll on to easy wins, although the Rebels really haven't played anyone to this point. Auburn' defense allowed close to 500 yards of offense to WV, but also forced 6 turnovers that was the difference in the game.
last but not least my picks were 6-0 this week, which is much better than the previous two weeks.

Well, Ole Miss just found out that they don't belong in the Top 10. Last week, USC learned that same sad lesson and the week before, OSU received the bad news. So who is next? Penn State? LSU? Bama? I can't wait to find out.
ReplyDeleteWell i gotta give it to Leach and the boys for one hard played game last week....i think Tech surprised a lot of people in that performance...seems like Florida and Texas had an excuse for poor play last week....The FLU...wow, lets just give some credit to to the Vols and Red Raiders instead of coming up with excuses...maybe Texas and Florida should just play in the Flu Bowl...Urban and Mack, just give me a break!!...and Lane Kiffin...keep running ur mouth..i love it!!!!
ReplyDeleteThis week we will find out if Miami is for real or not...i think they are...oh Randy has the U back to playing the football we have known Miami for in the past years...Florida i think will get test from Kentucky and being away from the friendly confines of the Swamp might make it a little more difficult...A surprise game is Tech and Houston...who would have thought i would say that...I think Tech can pull it out...And last night game really didnt surprise me...i kinda felt that Ole Miss was still just pulling votes from the win in the Cotton Bowl last year...
Oh yeah Bill i see ya finally came around and went with my prediction for the Big 12 Champ Game...Good job Bill, Good Job...
Ok i change my mind on Florida having trouble with Kentucky....31-0 at the end of the 1st QTR...yeah i change my mind....
